We founded Staple to solve one problem: regulated enterprises were processing thousands of documents per month with tools that generated risk instead of defensible records. Every tool on the market extracted data. None of them could prove where it came from.
Document processing is a compliance problem now. Most document processors are generative: they extract data without producing a defensible evidence chain. No trail, no verifiable logic, no proof the extraction is correct. Add different jurisdictions and multilingual documents, and the risk compounds.

Accounting, law, and software. CFO and consultant at KPMG advising enterprise clients on pre- and post-merger integration across Singapore, India, Australia, Korea, the UK, Hong Kong, and Japan. He founded Staple after seeing what manual document processing costs at scale, and what happens when document processing tools fail on the documents enterprises generate.
Dr Josh Kettlewell
CTO and Co-founder
PhD computer scientist specialising in machine learning, cryptography, and quantum computing. Research positions at MIT-SUTD and NUS in Singapore, published in academic journals. He designed Staple's core extraction models to train natively on Asian document formats rather than adapt from Latin-script engines.
